for Self Practice / Mysore-style

Shala Membership

At Rudra Yogshala, we honour personal sadhana as a vital part of the yogic path.

Shala Membership is open to experienced practitioners who wish to practice independently in a quiet, shared space. During these hours, guided classes may be in session, and practitioners are welcome to practice alongside with awareness and respect for the collective container.

This offering is for those comfortable practicing without verbal instruction and who value discipline, silence, and mutual respect.

Approval may be required to maintain the integrity of the space.

Shala Etiquette
  • Our shala is a shared space for practice and presence. These guidelines help maintain stillness, respect, and collective harmony.

  • Enter and exit quietly and mindfully, allowing others to remain undisturbed in their practice.

  • Keep phones on silent and stored away during practice. This is a space to turn inward.

  • Place shoes, bags, and personal belongings in designated areas.

  • Guided classes and Mysore-style self-practice may take place together. Please move with awareness of the shared space.

  • Self-practice is intended for experienced practitioners comfortable practicing independently. Teachers may be present to hold space but may not always guide.

  • Practice with awareness of your body and breath. This is not a space for performance or force.

  • Hands-on adjustments are offered only by teachers and only with consent. Students are requested not to adjust or correct others.

  • Please care for the shala — return props neatly, wipe down mats, and treat the space with respect.

  • Wear comfortable, modest clothing, preferably cotton, that supports ease of movement.

  • The shala is a space for sadhana. Conversations and socialising may continue outside the practice area.

  • Rudra Yogshala reserves the right to review or withdraw shala access if the integrity of the space is compromised.

  • These are gentle reminders — to practice with presence, humility, and respect for the shared journey.
